Way to Go Tours Presents: Destinations for the Soul
April 2019 | By Way to Go Tours | 4 minute read
Searching for a vacation that combines adventure and feel-good moments all in one? Jennifer Rakowski, President of Way to Go Tours, shares her insight on how to experience both in Latin America.
Q: Why should travelers consider booking with Way to Go Tours?
A great journey to the unique destinations of Central and South America requires specialty and service. Travelers may ask: What area in Costa Rica can I spot a sloth? What’s the best value hotel in Belize that has a thatched roof bungalow? Where are the best places to dine when I’m in Panama? Who do I call if my plane is delayed to Peru? How will my anniversary on this Galapagos cruise be recognized?
Way to Go Tours knows precise destination details, key accommodations, best values for international airfare/lodging and all options for touring experiences. Way to Go Tours provides travelers with a uniquely crafted destination experience, complimentary VIP recognition/amenities and 24-hour concierge. Our design specialists in the US and local service teams carefully and skillfully deliver wonderful experiences for every type of traveler.
Q: What is a bucket list experience that everyone should consider in Latin America?
Throughout Central and South America, there are so many unique experiences that could top each guest’s bucket list. Some WTG favorites include: seeing the morning sunrise behind the ruins of Tikal, feeding a rescued baby sloth, taking a panoramic photo on top of Machu Picchu, hiking the lava trails of the Arenal Volcano, snorkeling among the colorful fish in Hol Chan, tasting local dishes in an open-air Cartagena market, spotting a harpy eagle in a Panama rain forest, catching and releasing a blue marlin off the Jaco coastline, viewing the giant tortoise of the Galapagos, meeting an indigenous chieftain, rappelling down a tall waterfall, listening to the natural musical sounds of the forest in a private spa cabana and, most importantly, sharing an unexpected, delightful discovery that is uniquely Latin American.
Q: When is the best time to travel to Latin America?
During the months of late November to April, destinations like Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, southern Chile and southern Brazil are popular due to favorable weather. Peru’s season peaks between March and November, and some countries like Ecuador are sought after year-round. Excellent values and pockets of exceptional weather can be discovered in the less traveled times throughout all Latin America.
Q: What type of traveler does Way to Go Tours cater to?
Way to Go Tours caters to the traveler that desires an experience in Latin America that’s as unique as they are. Our tours are crafted with a traveler’s preferences, budget, activity level and requests in mind. From high-end luxury resorts and private touring to moderate hotels, eco-lodges and small-group day touring, Way to Go Tours will create a Latin journey that is extraordinarily yours with the help of your Ensemble advisor.
Q: If a traveler could pick only one tour you offer, which do you recommend and why?
If you’ve never traveled to Latin America, I’d suggest starting with Costa Rica. This amazing country of warm people, ecological diversity and adventure offers something for every traveler. We recommend including two or more locales within your itinerary allowing for a larger range of experiences. For example, combining the Arenal Volcano area with the Guanacaste beaches gives easy access to rain forests, mineral hot springs, cloud forests and Pacific blue water activities.
Q: What are some of the best locations most people haven’t heard of in Latin America?
- Bocas del Toro, Panama
- Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve, Costa Rica
- Mountain Pine Ridge, Belize
- Corn Islands, Nicaragua
- Pacaya Volcano, Guatemala
- Bay Islands, Roatan
- Coffee Triangle, Colombia
- Chachapoyas, Peru
- Florianopolis, Brazil
- Salta, Argentina
- Cuenca, Ecuador
- Chile wine region
